Celebrate! the 125th anniversary of Russell Springs in conjuction with our annual Old Settlers Day

Old Settler's Day will be held on Sunday, September 2nd, beginning with the Church Service at 8:00 AM at the St. Francis Chapel. Those 70 years old and older may register in the stage coach building and also sign up for a drawing to be held after lunch. Parade entrants will need to register at 9:30 AM downtown on Grand Ave. The Parade will start at 10:00 AM and the Cow Chip Throwing Contest will be north of the school at 11:00 AM. There will be a hamburger feed at Noon. Please feel free to bring a salad/side dish to share. At 1:00 PM, the program will feature reading the names of those who have passed away in the last year, drawing for prizes for the "Old Settlers" and Marilyn Holt of Abilene will speak on "Orphan Trains in Kansas".
